Calvin Klein- A Global brand
Klein was born on 19th Nov 1942 and it was his mother passion to teach him everything about fashion. He used to accompany her when she would go for shopping in the New York City. Ever since Calvin Klein was young, he wanted to become a fashion designer.
He taught himself to sketch and also sew clothes. When he was younger than 20, he graduated from the famous Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Calvin later married the beautiful Jayne Centre and started his work by apprentice sketching European designs for coat. Klein however was against the idea of copying European fashion for his employer Dan Millstein.
His dream was to start his own company. He always has imagination out of the box and wanted to innovate new fashion out of the States. His dream accomplishment was a very difficult task as he was struggling with financial matters. He used to work part-time job at his father’s grocery store in order to make money.
Calvin Klein Ltd. Was established in 1968. He took a $10,000 loan from his friend and with his own $2000 of his money he started his business. He dint have to hunt down for the success, instead success came towards him. Bonwit Teller gave Calvin Klein the first order. The buyer was so impressed with his work that he ordered $50,000 woth cost of the coats. Additionally, there was a column written in Vogue for Klein’s designs and hence Klein’s reputation was established quickly.
Calvin klein adopted new culture in his designs and introduced sportswear for women which was less expensive. Men were also attracted to the Calvin Klein Look and then masculine designs were also introduced. Calvn Klein perfume and his famous jeans poured in a new way for money. Now he is one of the World’s most wanted and popular fashion designers.
